Restoring Resilience delivered the GROW Working with Children Program to 250 kindergarten teachers, that represent 3,500 children across the City of Wyndham.
The program introduced educational neuroscience, in a quick to learn, easy to use workshop and incredible visual resource to help children as young as 3-12yo to regulate their emotions. The training is based on Relational Gestalt therapy, Polyvagal Theory and provides specific Somatic Experience® interventions to support regulation, connection, and learning.
The results so far have been incredible. 100% of the educators felt extremely confident in being able to recognise psychobiological states in children and felt that the physical description of the three states of flight, fight and freeze helped them better understand the causes of stress and anxiety in children. We found that 100% of the educators said that the GROW program helped them demystify child behaviour in the classroom and that it provided them with a deeper understanding into children’s behaviour. The training helped equip them with practical and well described strategies and visual aids for each stress physiological state that they can readily use with kids in their classroom settings.
