An Evening with Dr Peter A. Levine & Prof. Judy Atkinson
On healing, belonging, and coming home
A Once-in-a-Lifetime Public Gathering
For the first time in Australia, two global leaders in trauma healing come together in dialogue:
- Dr Peter A. Levine, founder of Somatic Experiencing®
- Prof. Judy Atkinson, Bundjalung elder, trauma specialist, and author
This is not a training.
Not a lecture.
But an evening of shared reflection, story, and meaning.
At a time when many people feel overwhelmed, divided, or disconnected, this conversation invites us to pause — and to remember what supports healing at a human and collective level.
Together, Prof Atkinson and Dr Levine explore:
- how the body carries both pain and the capacity to heal
- why healing has always been relational — never meant to be done alone
- how belonging restores what disconnection fractures
- why Country, community, and connection have always been medicine
This evening honours First Nations leadership in healing and story — wisdom held and protected for tens of thousands of years — and brings it into dialogue with contemporary understandings of the nervous system and trauma recovery.
It is an invitation to listen deeply, to reflect together, and to sense what becomes possible when healing is held in connection.
When we heal in relationship, we begin to restore what trauma and disconnection have taken.
