Relational Proprioception™ Masterclass and Practitioner Cohort 2027
Where unfinished developmental needs can be witnessed, received and renegotiated.
A client can become more regulated and still disappear in relationship. They may know the language of boundaries and lose connection when they say no. They may read another person exquisitely and struggle to find themselves. They may protect the I through isolation or preserve the We through self-erasure.
Relational Proprioception understands these organisations as attempts to negotiate development. It helps practitioners listen for what is still trying to form through affect, impulse and relationship, and to create the conditions in which new movement may become possible.
In RP, the past is not elsewhere. It is alive in the face, breath, body, fascia, impulse and relational field of the present—including what is evoked in the practitioner.
When regulation alone does not complete the work
RP supports practitioners to recognise the developmental movement still seeking expression in the relationship.
- The client tracks others clearly but struggles to locate their own impulse.
- A boundary is cognitively understood, yet saying no threatens connection.
- Contact is longed for and simultaneously experienced as dangerous.
- Separation becomes isolation, or belonging requires self-erasure.
- The practitioner feels pulled to rescue, withdraw, perform or disappear.
Moving between I, You and We
RP does not make independence the goal, nor does it romanticise collectivity. It develops the capacity to move among self, other, relationship, community and the wider world without requiring anyone to disappear.
Existence
The felt right to be here, take form and occupy space.
Welcome
Being received without needing to perform or disappear.
Contact
Moving toward relationship while remaining locatable to oneself.
Turning away
Following the impulse to pause, protect, rest or separate.
Return
Re-entering contact without surrendering difference.
Aggression
Recovering life force, direction, protest and boundary.
Agency
Locating preference, impulse and choice in the body.
Belonging
Participating in a We that can survive genuine difference.
Relational Proprioception™ Masterclass
A concentrated four-hour introduction to the framework, its developmental map and its clinical relevance for experienced somatic, trauma and relational practitioners.
The masterclass can be attended as a standalone experience. Enrolment does not automatically include a place in the six-month cohort.
Six-month practitioner cohort
Six live two-hour sessions from February to July 2027, limited to 20 practitioners and offered by application.
The longer-term integration program develops this further through repeated reflection, case application and practice, allowing an internal relational compass to develop over time.

The Drama of the Gifted Child and the Origin of the Attuned Caregiver
Recognising the adaptations that can shape therapeutic attunement and professional identity.
The Relational Proprioception Developmental Framework
Orienting to the full map and its use in clinical reflection and practice.
Existence, Welcome and the Earliest Fields
Meeting the foundational need to exist, take form and be received.
Contact, Turning Away and Return
Supporting movement between connection and separation without relational collapse.
Difference, Aggression, Agency and Belonging
Recovering protest, direction and choice inside a relationship that can survive difference.
Consolidation, Application and Invitation Forward
Integrating the map in practice and clarifying the next developmental edge.
An original framework in conversation with established fields
Developed by Anna Skolarikis through clinical, supervisory and teaching practice, RP brings established bodies of knowledge into an original developmental and relational framework.
Regulation Theory
Including Allan Schore’s work on right-brain development and relational regulation.
Relational Gestalt
A field-sensitive approach to contact, difference and what forms between people.
Somatic Experiencing®
Attention to physiology, impulse, incomplete responses and nervous-system organisation.
Polyvagal Theory
A language for autonomic state, safety, mobilisation and social engagement.
Anna Skolarikis
Anna developed Relational Proprioception through sustained clinical, supervisory and teaching practice.
The framework grows from close observation of what happens when people have developed sophisticated ways of reading others yet remain difficult to locate to themselves. Her teaching invites practitioners to include their own embodied and relational responses as information, while maintaining clinical responsibility and respect for the client’s pace.
Before you register or apply
Who is the masterclass for?
Experienced somatic, trauma and relational practitioners seeking a developmental map for what remains unfinished in the living therapeutic relationship.
Do I need to join the cohort?
No. The masterclass is a standalone four-hour entry point. The cohort is a separate commitment and requires an application.
How is the cohort different?
It offers repeated reflection, case application and practice over six months so the framework can be integrated over time.
How many places are available?
The cohort is limited to 20 practitioners, offered by application and approval.
Does RP replace other training?
No. RP sits in conversation with established relational, somatic and developmental traditions rather than replacing them.
Will continuing supervision be available?
Monthly 90-minute supervision is planned for cohort graduates for the remainder of 2027. Details and pricing are to be confirmed.
“What is this person still trying to develop through the relationship between us, and can I participate without asking either of us to disappear?”
Begin with the four-hour masterclass, or apply for the deeper six-month practitioner journey.
