This Masterclass, showcasing our unique ecological approach, has been designed to help leaders, managers and supervisors facilitate optimal growth, health and wellbeing within staff.
This approach supports a much-needed paradigm shift as it maps how to move from autonomous and siloed ways of practising and look toward fostering an all-encompassing, relational, interdependent and sustainable way forward.
This Workshop Will Support Leaders, Managers And Supervisors With:
- Introducing ecological systems theory into organisational settings.
- Assisting staff with mental health and wellbeing from a psychobiological lens
- Learning to notice and track somatic signs of stress and overwhelm, to reduce and prevent burnout.
- Developing Healthy Boundaries - differentiate between states of joining, merging and avoiding, for optimal mental health and well being.
- The illusion of separateness and the importance of understanding how to harness the power of relational neurobiology.
- Supporting staff to practice from a place of health, wellbeing and sustainability.
- Developing organisational ecological systems that nourish and support staff when working with crisis and reduce stress and overwhelm.

“My teens interaction with me is much better and our bond is much stronger. I feel like we are starting to slowly understand each other.”
“The more I tried the interventions, the better I got at it.”
“Our teens seem to have modified their behaviours for a more peaceful household which is a result of our new knowledge and skills.”
“Attendees were not required to contribute unless they chose to do so and it was totally up to individuals to discuss personal issues if they wished to do so.”
“It was engaging and provided an open platform to speak freely from judgement. Was able to expand on my knowledge of the nervous system, window of tolerance and ways to help regulate it. Important lessons on how we connect with others in relation to boundaries“
“The facilitators are fantastic, and through learning how trauma can impact our clients nervous system then we as counsellors can be better equipped to apply beneficial interventions, and help our clients regulate their defensive state.”
“Thank you for providing this amazing opportunity. It is one of the best things I’ve done. Cannot thank you enough.”
“Thank you for presenting this amazing course. It is one of the best things I’ve done. Can’t thank you enough. Phyllis, you are beautiful making this such a positive experience.”
“I have recommended the program to many people, I feel everyone can get something from it.”
“I learnt that we are not alone with the challenges and struggles of raising teens. I learnt that I have the ability to address issues with improved skills.“
“It is really important information for counselling with a trauma focus, and noticing where people are at, whether they are flooded or flowing. A whole lot of new skills for my toolbox that increase my confidence to do the work safely. The focus on the physiology brings a fresh perspective of ‘being with’ a person.“
“You offered a lovely combination of strength’s and respect for each other’s knowledge. I enjoyed your passion for the work.”
“I liked the way Anna and Phyllis communicated with the group, it was sincere and they really listened and provided some great suggestions to those asking questions or sharing some of their story”
Thank you for a wonderful session!!! Anna, I sat in on your session at this years Wyndham Educators Matter Conference; Intergenerational Trauma and I loved listening to you and I remember when you briefly touched on Polyvagal Theory and I was instantly curious so thank you both for a great session today as you re-inspired my interest and I feel better equipped now to understand the approach and be able… to implement with the services I lead at. It flowed really well, supports our everyday practice, was easy to understand and very engaging. Both Anna and Phyllis are brilliant facilitators with a wealth of passion and knowledge. I got so much out of this PD and many, many take away’s for my team and services that I work in!! The practical strategies and ideas that can be used in service delivery and the program with children. The information I received around neuro-science in a more simplified way using diagrams and visuals that I know I can support staff with their understanding and ability to support each child’s regulation in the Kindergarten. What did you like least about the workshop? NOTHING!! It was all amazing!! Truly! I feel it is valuable learning for any educator especially during these times with the pandemic and the stress it causes many families and community members. Read more “Cassandra – 13-08-2021”
“I was able to deescalate arguments between siblings, and address feelings of anger and sadness. I was also more aware of my ‘parenting style’ and my husbands. I am spending more time discussing situations with my teenagers now.”

“Dear Phyllis, there are no words to thank you. I have learnt so much, not only about myself but why behaviours occur. It has been a teary (on occasion) but very positive experience. I really love your delivery and acceptance of all of us. Thank you so very much.“
“ I went into the course thinking my parenting style was going to be addressed personally but this was not the case. The program was very inclusive and equipped me with the necessary tools to build better relationships with, not only my teenager but also, my husband. I am so pleased I was involved in the program. I learnt a lot, and have implemented a lot of ‘emotion coaching’ techniques… and noticed results. ‘Emotional coaching’ really does work and I recommend that everyone gets involved, including schools and community groups.” Read more “Barry – 01-06-2021”
“Great to see that I am not the only one going through this. Great course and great handouts.”
“Thank you for an amazing workshop”
“I have gained so much insight and skills from the Tuning into Teens Course. It has given me a greater understanding into how teenagers think and communicate as well as how to parent and communicate more mindfully so as to foster strong relationships where my children can feel heard and free to express and explore their own emotions. My only regret is that I did not have the opportunity to… do this course sooner. Phyllis is a caring and gifted presenter who has a genuine concern for those she coaches. I have learnt so much from her.” Read more “Renee”
“The weekly exercises were terrific to do with my teens each week. It really helped us create a connection.”

“I recommend the course as everyone can get some benefit from it.”
“The level of knowledge and practice wisdom imparted was so invaluable and I loved how focused it was on how to incorporate theory and practice into our work.“
“I was pleasantly surprised with the content of the program and how impersonal yet relevant it was. “I think when you have a better understanding of what is happening inside our bodies it is easier to respond to challenging behaviour. “
“Sensory interventions very specific and immediately useful in therapy sessions. Very applicable knowledge. “
“Thank you, the program was presented in such a friendly, warm, safe and educating environment. Everyone managed to keep engaged, it was awesome.”
“I took Phyllis’ course with my girls being 9 & 6 years old, and although its specific to teenagers, I have found it easy to implement with my kids from now. Phyllis was able to workshop and guide us on our personal communication styles, and it was great hearing other parent’s examples too. The course was very practical and a safe space to share, and I definitely had a couple… of ‘aha’ moments!” Read more “Vanessa”
“Lots of great information and knowledge, warm presenters open to questions.”
“Really enjoyed the session, excellent, engaging and captivating content. Really well presented and fun. Thank you”
I have previously attended a PD with Phyllis, and this presentation expanded from the previous PD, really cementing my previous knowledge on this topic. Phyllis and Anna both provided information that was easy to follow, and used examples of what this could look like in practice. The way the content was organised and easily understandable. The way it was shown how it can be used in practice, and the speed… at which it was delivered. It wasn’t rushed, and the presenters gave time to answer questions. I would recommend it to all early childhood educators, as it depends on each person how an event affects them. If ECE had this understanding of how to assist children, and themselves in elevated situations, or what to look for, it could reduce the impact of the trauma/event on the child, the class as a whole, the family and on the educator. It would assist children to feel safer faster, being in an environment with ECE’s that have the knowledge on how to assist them and what to look for. Read more “Jacqueline – 13-08-2021”
